Russell Wright 1930s American Modern Chartreuse Covered Casserole

Here we have an outstanding example of a 11 3/4 inch long Chartreuse Russel Wright covered casserole. The curving organic form of a handled pot is in wonderful condition. This line was made in the postwar era where issues such as consumer choice, color variety, mid-point pricing, and practicality were to become important characteristics of the abundance of goods produced for the middle class.

Exceptional piece in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze with little to no crazing. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any repairs or modification. The white spots are studio light reflections.
