Stunning Rookwood Pottery Bengal Glaze, 1946 by Loretta Holtkamp.

Loretta Holtkamp was born near the Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1894. she began working under Sarah Toohey in the faience department, but in 1943 she began as a decorator. She continued in this role until 1954. Her work tended towards more organic designs, and worked in many of the popular glazes of the time.

This porcelain vase is decorated with squeeze bag applied flowers and lined with the Bengal Brown glaze. This is a beautiful piece with an interesting combination of glaze colors. The Bengal Brown glaze really sets this vase apart. The marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 6314 and Ms. Holtkamp's monogram in brown slip. This is a quality vase without even a hint of crazing.

Excellent original condition in that there are no chips, no cracks, and no restoration. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.

Authentic and signed appropriately with the Rookwood symbol and shape number. All images are original and un-edited. Artist signed.
