The Peters & Reed pottery was formally incorporated in 1901. Their pottery was primarily made of red clay from the Zanesville, Ohio area. Peters & Red art pottery is known for their remarkable glazes and glaze treatments of which Marbelized is on the list.
Here we have a fine example of a 10 inch tall Column Squat Vase. The glaze colors are amazing blend of yellow, red, green and black over a red clay body. This vase has a high gloss glaze which gives it a wonderful shine. These are not as common as they once were.
Wonderful condition in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no restoration, with very minor underglaze crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
