Overbeck Pottery 1911-55 Pink Cockatoo Paperweight

$695.00
The study of the figurines produced by the Overbeck sisters is in many ways a study of their history. These small pieces appeared very early in their works, and were among the last pieces produced by Mary before her death.Figurines were commonly made by request from local patrons and citizens. One of their neighbors was known to have commissioned over 60 of them, mostly depictions of famous people such as George Washington. Other depictions included many of the local townspeople who the sisters knew and did business with.

Here we have an outstanding example of a 5 inch tall Overbeck Figurine in the form of a pink Cockatoo bird. This is a great critter to use as a paperweight on your desk! Outstanding decorative figure that displays exceptionally well.

Exceptional figure in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches, no repairs, no restoration. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.

All images are original and un-edited. Authentic Overbeck Pottery and appropriately stamped.
