Louis Icart (Helli) c1910 Plumage Hat and Victory Hat Postcards Framed

Before Louis Icart achieved fame for his boudoir etchings, he designed several lines of postcards for various companies. These postcards carry the signature 'Helli', an early family nickname. The Mode Parisienne series 153 postcards had a small edition, likely less than 10 different designs. Each features an image of a young woman in the Paris. Although simple lithographs, the original etchings are lost to history. These postcards are extremely rare, and completing a full set could be nearly impossible.
Here we have a wonderful example of two postcards framed! One known as Plumage Hat and the other known as Victory Hat. As you can see, each young lady is posed in such a way as to show off her unique hat! This is an outstanding piece with wonderful composition. A little history : Louis Icart was born in Toulouse, France in 1880 and passed away in Pairs in 1950. He began drawing at an early age. He was particularly interested in fashion, and became famous for his sketches almost immediately.
