Desert Sands Pottery 1950-70 's Glossy Brown Swirl Spindle Vase Stamped

$34.95
Desert Sands Pottery started in 1950 and continued until 1975. Early Desert Sands pieces were produced in Nevada while the later pieces were made in California. Early pieces of Desert Sands are very similar to Niloak, with only the interior glazed to make them functional. However, Desert Sands often used green, bright yellow, and bright orange, colors not in the Niloak palette. Later pieces received a bright glossy glaze on the exterior, causing the dull clay colors to become brilliant.

This 4 3/4 inch tall Sands spindle vase has a beautiful green and brown swirl with a clear glossy glaze on the outside. This vase is a wonderful example of an arts & crafts style. This piece has a wonderful spindle shape with a flared rim. The collection of complimenting colors especially the green and brown are well done. This is a great unique find!

Wonderful vase in that it is no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no repairs and little mild crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.

Authentic Desert Sands Pottery and appropriately lightly stamped. All images are original and un-edited.
