Mary Madeline Nourse

Mary Madeline Nourse was born near Cincinnati, Ohio on July 5, 1870. She attended the Cincinnati Art academy and decorated at Rookwood for 14 years, from 1891 through 1905. Her work is typically found on Standard Glaze pieces, She was the niece of one of the most celebrated Rookwood artists, Elizabeth Nourse. Mary died on June 23, 1959, and her work is considered by collectors to be above average.
