Elizabeth Barrett
Elizabeth Barrett was born near Maysville, Kentucky. Like many Rookwood Pottery artists, she attended the Cincinnati Art Academy as well as the University of Cincinnati. She worked at Rookwood Pottery for many years, from 1924 until 1946, but only occasionally, mostly part-time between 1931 and 1943. Her work tended towards more organic designs, and worked in many of the popular glazes of the time. In 1931 she married another Rookwood artist, Jens Jensen. After leaving the Rookwood Pottery company, the Jensens created a small pottery company called "Gamtofte". Collector interest in her pieces is considered to be above average.
