Weller Pottery 1920's Hobart Turqouise Bacchus Flower Frog with Bowl
The Weller Hobart line includes many figural pieces, some nudes and most commonly found covered a matt turquoise glaze. The deco-style standing figures and their flower frogs are of particular interest even to the most avid collector.
This Hobart Flower frog is glazed in a pleasing matt blue turqouise. Highly unusual to find in any condition. He displays well from all angles. This flower frog is paired with a bowl that has 2 intertwined swans. The bowl is not marked. These two pieces are being sold together even though they may not have been made by the same potter. A perfect addition to any pottery collection.
Exceptional set in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and some very minor underglaze crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. I cannot detect any evidence of repair or modification. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
