Weller Pottery 1920 - 30's Hudson Light Roses Vase
The Weller Pottery company produced the Hudson line in the early 1920's through the 1920's and in many varieties. The Hudson Light background usually has a very pale shaded background and decorated in a limited palette of cool colors. This line was seldom artist signed.
This particular Hudson Light vase has a light background is nearly white with a pleasing pale blue ring around the neck. The pale pink and white blossoms on the front of the vase are attached to pale green thorned branches. This vase is very well hand decorated but not artist signed that we can tell. Beautiful example of this line!
Wonderfule vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. This vase does have crazing and some long line crazing and still displays well from all sides. The vase still rings true. The crazing looks more pronounced due to the macro lens used for the photography. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. Dimensions are below.
