Vintage Rookwood Pottery Flower Frog Matt Pink #1621, 1921
Rookwood Pottery produced a wide variety of pottery wares from vases to bowls to utilitarian ware. Many pottery companies of the time produced flower frogs that went with a bowl for easy flower arranging by the consumer or florist. Some have survived together but sometimes just the frog survived. Each production ware piece was created in a variety of colors which would provide a wide appeal for anyone to purchase.
Unusual larger size flower frog or flower arranger which was produced by Rookwood Pottery in 1921. This would have held a lot of flower back in the day since it has 7 holes but also 3 slots. There is a strong collector market for flower frogs in all shapes, sizes and colors. This would be a perfect addition to a collection or a start of one. This is a great rich medium pink in a matt finish. Give as a gift or keep for yourself. Displays perfectly from all sides and angles.
Wonderful flower frog that is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and FREE from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. White spots are from studio light reflections. Dimensions are below. Authentic and signed appropriately with the Rookwood symbol and shape number.
H: 1 1/2", Base: 3 3/4" , Rim: 3 3/8"
