Roseville Pottery 1945 Tangerine Freesia Basket #390-7

The Roseville Pottery company introduced the Freesia line in 1945. The Freesia line features blossoms in fanning clusters of white, yellow and lavender which wrap around the body of the vessels. The background of these pots are blended blues, greens and brown-orange-russet. Most marks are raised while some may be impressed.

Here we have a wonderful example of a 7 inch tall Freesia basket in the Tangerine color. For some lines, Roseville would name the glaze colors and this combination of brown and orange is known as Tangerine. The background is textured with a variegated brown. The freesia flowers appear on both sides of the basket in yellow and are in wonderful condition. The green leaves stretch down the body of the vessel and provide a nice visual effect. This is a great decorative piece that displays very well.

Exceptional basket in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any crazing, repairs or restoration. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.

Authentic and appropriately marked Roseville with shape number. All images are original and un-edited.
