Roseville Pottery 1945 Delft Blue Freesia V-Shape Vase #121-8
The Roseville Pottery company introduced the Freesia line in 1945. The Freesia line features blossoms in fanning clusters of white, yellow and lavender which wrap around the body of the vessels. The background of these pots are blended blues, greens and brown-orange-russet. Most marks are raised while some may be impressed.
Here we have a fine example of the 8 1/4 inch tall Blue Freesia V-shaped vase with angular handles near the rim. The freesia flowers are on both sides of the vase and are in wonderful condition. The background is textured with a variegated blue that is referred to as Delft Blue in Roseville catalogs. On one side there are two sets of flowers: one in yellow and one in white. On the other side, there is one freesia flower in white. Exceptional detail to the entire vase.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any crazing, repairs or restoration. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic and appropriately marked Roseville with shape number. All images are original and un-edited.
