Rookwood Pottery 1943 Gloss Celadon Deer Vase #6050
Rookwood large vase, celadon green glaze, deer design. Designed by William E. Hentschel, this large Rookwood vase from 1943 is an excellent example of the celadon green glaze. The glaze is expertly applied to highlight the deer and plant design, and is completely uncrazed. This is the largest example of celadon glaze we have found in uncrazed condition and should be considered a rarity. It is free from chips, cracks or repairs, and is in excellent original condition.
Shape number 6050, it displays well, and is a great piece to accent nearly any decor. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
