Rookwood Pottery 1922 Crane Trivet Tile #2047
Rookwood Pottery Trivet Tile, Crane with Outstretched Wings.
This Rookwood Pottery Trivet from 1922 displays a beautiful crane with its wings unfurled, is derived from a Japanese crane - Tsuru. Shape number 2047, it is wonderfully example of late arts and crafts design. The glaze is expertly applied to highlight the pattern in complementary colors. There is some minor crazing which does not detract. There are no chips, no cracks, and no restoration. An excellent piece that displays well, especially if framed for wall display.
Exceptional trivet in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Mild crazing on this tile. Very mild peppering. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. Dimensions are below.
