Weller Pottery 1920's Coppertone Frog on Rim Round Vase Planter 19
Weller Pottery introduced the Coppertone line in the late 1920's. Most of the Coppertone pieces are relating to frogs or turtles and a few without any decoration other than its heavily mottled green glaze created to mimic the green patina found on copper. This is one of Weller's most well-known lines and easily identifiable.
Here we have a beautiful 7 1/4 inch tall frog on rim round vase. This is a great piece with a crisp mold and striking glaze color. Lily pads are in the mold of this piece and add lots of depth to the look of the vase. Perfect for any cabin or woodsy decor. Glazed by decorator 19.
Exceptional piece in that it has no damage, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any underglaze crazing or repairs on this piece. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops.
Authentic Weller. Stamped with the Weller Pottery Kiln mark. All images are un-edited and original.
