Weller Pottery 1920's Coppertone Frog Clinging Cattails Flaring Vase
Weller Pottery introduced the Coppertone line in the late 1920's. Most of the Coppertone pieces are relating to frogs or turtles and a few without any decoration other than its heavily mottled green glaze created to mimic the green patina found on copper. This is one of Weller's most well-known lines and easily identifiable.
Here we have a wonderful example of a 9 inch Coppertone vase - Frog Clinging to Cattails. The shape of this vase has a slightly flaring opening. This vase is ink stamped with the Weller Pottery Kiln mark on the bottom along with the artist mark of 19. Perfect for any cabin or woodsy decor.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any underglaze crazing or repairs on this vase. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops.
Authentic Weller Pottery. Artist mark 19. All images are original and un-edited.
