Vintage Roseville Pottery Wincraft Azure Blue Book Ends #259-6
Roseville Pottery company produced the Wincraft line in 1948 and was named after the then-company president Robert Windisch. This line does not have a consistent trait among the pieces except for the sheen. The design elements like the flowers are borrowed from their other lines including the colors. The Wincraft line is in a variety of colors including Apricot, Azure Blue, and Chartreuse. People commonly refer to this color as blue but according to the original advertisement for the Wincraft line, this color is actually known as Azure Blue. The glaze on this vintage Roseville Pottery set is unusual in that it has more of a crystalline glaze near the bottom. Exceptional design and perfect for display as soon as you receive them. Displays well from all angles.
This item was inspected with a Mil-spec UVA (365NM) and UVC (254NM) high intensity ultra-violet light and no evidence of repair or modification was detected. Exceptional book end set in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Very very minor underglaze crazing on this wonderful piece. It may appear more pronounced due to the macro lens used for the photography. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops.
