Van Briggle Pottery 1950-60 Mulberry Tall Ewer
The Van Briggle Art Pottery is the oldest continuously operating art pottery in the United States, having been established in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 by Artus and Anne Van Briggle. The Van Briggle Pottery Studio closed in spring 2012.
Here we have a great Van Briggle ewer in the recognizable mulberry glaze. Beautiful, simple design which is reminiscent of Mid Century Modern. A wonderful glaze treatment with mulberry and purple/blue hues. Exceptional piece for any collection.
Exceptional ewer in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, Free from crazing. May have very minor penciling (silver marks). I cannot detect any repairs or modifications. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic. Signed Van Biggle. All images are original and unedited.
