Van Briggle Pottery 1918 Mulberry Heart Leaf Vase
The Van Briggle Art Pottery was the oldest continuously operating art pottery in the United States, having been established in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 by Artus and Anne Van Briggle. Artus had a significant impact on the Art Nouveau movement in the United States, and his pottery is foundational to American Art Pottery.
Here we have an excellent example of a 7 1/2 inch tall vase with the molded leaves. Outstanding application of the single color Mulberry glaze. A truly unique vase dated 1918. It is difficult to come by dated pieces so here is your chance to add to your collection. Exceptional piece for any collection.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, Free from crazing - glaze line that runs along the body. I cannot detect any repairs or modifications. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic. Signed Van Briggle Dated 1918. All pictures are original and un-edited.
