Van Briggle Pottery 1912-20's Mountain Craig Brown Dragonfly Vase #792
The Van Briggle Art Pottery was the oldest continuously operating art pottery in the United States, having been established in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 by Artus and Anne Van Briggle. Artus had a significant impact on the Art Nouveau movement in the United States, and his pottery is foundational to American Art Pottery.
Here we have an excellent example of a 6 3/4 inch tall vase with the molded dragonflies. Outstanding application of the Mountain Craig glaze with the green highlighting the dragonfly. A truly unique vase and difficult to come by. Exceptional piece for any collection.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, Free from crazing. I cannot detect any repairs or modifications. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic. Signed Van Briggle. All pictures are original and un-edited.
