Roseville Pottery Green Yellow Ostrich Egg Vase #400-7 1924
This Roseville Futura vase is known as the Ostrich egg obviously named after its shape. This vase has a pleasant combination of green over yellow with a blue gray base. This particular shape is difficult to find in any condition. This is a wonderful piece to add to that growing collection of Futura Roseville Pottery. Displays well from all angles. Perfect for any home decor.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and FREE from crazing. This does have one area near the base where the glaze pooled during firing. There is one minute glaze skip on one leg. Due to how the piece was glazed, bubbles formed near the bottom tip of the vase. Three of these have burst, 2 are small but there is a larger one. Even with these flaws, it still displays exceptionally well. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
I cannot detect any evidence of repair or modification. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
