Roseville Pottery 1948 Raku-Type Reduction Glaze Wincraft Vase #281-6
Roseville Pottery company produced the Wincraft line in 1948 and was named after the then-company president Robert Windisch. This line does not have a consistent trait among the pieces except for the sheen. The design elements like the flowers are borrowed from their other lines including the colors. The Wincraft line is in a variety of colors including yellow, blue, green and brown to name a few.
Here we have a 6 1/4 inch tall Wincraft vase with a very unique glaze. While we don't believe this glaze to be experimental/trial, we feel this glaze appears to be very much like a raku reduction fire glaze almost like the kiln got too hot. The glaze ended up having reds and copper like colors. A truly unique piece.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Very minor underglaze craze lines. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
All pictures are original and un-edited. Marked and guaranteed to be original, vintage Roseville pottery. Authentic.
