Roseville Pottery 1929 Futura Brown Four Ball Vase #393-12
Futura is one of the most easily identifiable and beloved of the Roseville lines. Futura is a striking blend of art deco and floral designs, both naturalistic and stylized. This line was introduced in 1929 when everything was fair game and previously unknown colors and shape and glaze combinations continue to emerge, Pieces are unmarked or have a foil label.
This Futura vase is known as the Four Ball obviously named after its shape. This vase has a pleasant combination of tan/orange and brown base with some crystalline matte. This vase is the embodiment of the art deco movement. This is the perfect decorative piece. Difficult to find in any condition. Perfect for any home decor.
Wonderful vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and very little crazing. Possible repair to one corner of base which is difficult to detect unless under high magnification. This does have one area near the base where the glaze pooled during firing. Even with these flaws, it still displays exceptionally well. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
