Roseville Pottery 1924 Florentine I Double Bud Vase #41-6

The Roseville Pottery company had produced two incarnations of the Florentine line. One in 1924 and one in 1940. The version from 1924 comes in brown and ivory , has rough textured brown panels regularly spaced and separated by garlands of grape vines and flowers with a modified egg-and-dart rim. Pieces are unmarked or have an Rv ink stamp.

The later version has textured brown and ivory panels separated by ivory partitions with green-glazed decoration and a green-trimmed rim all the pieces being unmarked or have a raised Roseville USA mark.

Here we have a wonderful Florentine I low bowl from 1924. This is an outstanding Florentine I double bud vase with excellent colors and sharp mold. This pattern has always reminded me of Roman style pottery.

Exceptional piece in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Rv ink stamp on bottom. I cannot detect any crazing or repairs Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.

Authentic Roseville Pottery. All images are original and un-edited.
