This stunning Rookwood Pottery scenic vellum vase from 1935 is decorated with large trees and a stream, along with unexpected houses set beneath a bright pink sky. The work of Fred Rothenbusch, the marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 925 E and Mr. Rothenbusch's monogram.
This is a museum quality vase without even a hint of crazing. There are no chips, no cracks, and no restoration. This is a stunning piece with unusual colors that is perfect for a curated collection. The base does have a wheel ground "X", but with no defects to be found we can only assume it was custom created for a specific customer and never offered for sale to the public.
