Rookwood Pottery 1891 Standard Glaze Yellow Roses Pitcher #564D W M E

Rookwood Pottery 1891 Standard Glaze Yellow Roses Tankard #564D.

This is a beautiful 8 3/4 inch tall tankard. This is shape #564 as identified in the Herbert Peck book of Rookwood Pottery Shapes. This tankard was taken from a Haviland piece in July 1890. This piece is in exceptional original condition with beautiful hand-painted bunch of roses. An artist signature is on the bottom as ME. The designation of /L was probably added to indicate the artist's preference for glaze - which "L" stands for light yellow.

Exceptional pitcher in excellent original condition in that it is undamaged, no cracks, possible small light scratch to glaze and free from crazing and no repairs. Tiny nick on spout hard to find. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.

Authentic and signed appropriately with the Rookwood symbol and shape number. All images are original and unedited. Measurements Height: 8 3/4", Base: 4" , Rim: 2 1/2"
