Vintage Japan Pottery 1920's Zona Child's Milk Pitcher with Dancing Duck
There was a time in the 1920's when there was a steady importing of pottery made in Japan that was produced to resemble the Weller Pottery Zona line. It is very hard to tell the difference unless you put them side by side. The Japanese Pottery was well made but the design was slightly different. The handle is different and the artistry is not as well done.
Here we have a lovely example of a Japan 3 3/4 inch tall Zona-style child's milk pitcher or creamer with a depiction of a dancing duck on one side. This is a great example of a cute little pitcher that I am sure made children smile.
Exceptional cup in that it is no cracks, no scratches, no chips, fine overall crazing, no repairs. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. All images are original and un-edited.
