Frankoma Pottery 1950's Onyx Black Star Vase 38

This is a wonderful Frankoma vase in Onyx glaze This glaze color was used on items after 1934. I believe this piece to be from the 1950's. In 1954, the company switched to a brick red firing clay which was several miles from the factory in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. This clay was extracted from Sugar Loaf Hill and is referred to as Sapulpa clay. The bottom of the vase shows the red color of the clay. This is a must have for any Frankoma collector! Displays well from all sides.

Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free from crazing and repairs. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
