Frankoma Brown Satin Duck Planter 208A
Frankoma was founded by John Frank in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1933. He moved the company to Sapulpa in 1938, only to soon rebuild that factory after a fire later that year. The name Frankoma was created from Frank's last name and the last three letters of the state of Oklahoma. Affordable dinnerware and serving pieces, mugs, novelties, memorial figures, Route 66 items, limited editions, commemoratives, souvenirs--Frankoma Pottery has served the needs of everyday life since it's beginning.
This is a wonderful Frankoma duck planter with great detail to its feathers and face. The color is known as Rubbed Bisque which is a dark wood tone. The color of the clay leads me to believe that this is from around the 1980s. This is a must have for any Frankoma or duck collector!
Exceptional planter in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. It may appear more pronounced due to the macro lens used for the photography. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections. Dimensions are below.
