Muncie Pottery 1930's Green Drip Over Pumpkin Katydid Vase (Shape 194-6) 2A
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This katydid vase was designed by well known Reuben Haley who also designed the Muncie's Rombic line. This is a very well-known glaze and vase shape. Always sought after and highly collectible. This is signed 2A which is the decorator mark.
