Muncie Pottery 1929 Blue Peachskin Obolisk vase #108-6
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This is a beautiful blue peachskin glaze vase that stands 5 3/4 inch tall. The peachskin glaze is a highly collectible glaze and easily recognizable. This glaze is a perfect blending of blue, green, orange and yellow. Wonderful arts and crafts example.
Great vase in that it has no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Very minimal crazing. It has one small nick and one line near rim. Both are marked in the last picture. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. No evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic Muncie Pottery. All images are original and un-edited.
