Muncie Pottery 1928-29 Green Over Pumpkin Ribbed Vase # 441-6 1/2
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
Here we a wonderful 6 1/2 inch tall vase with a green drip over pumpkin/orange. This combination is a beautiful glaze. A nice mantle vase with a beautiful shape that will please any collector. Wonderful ribbed design adds depth to the vase while the bulbous bottom shows well from every side. Really a unique piece that anyone would be proud to call their own. No harsh lines or color breaks with the drip design. A wonderful arts and crafts style vase.
Wonderful vase in that it has no cracks, no scratches to glaze and minimal to no crazing. Minor chip to rim that is barely noticeable due to the color of the clay. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. No evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections.
