Muncie Pottery 1920's Semi-Gloss Maroon Lamp Base #244L-10
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This 10 1/2 inch tall Muncie lamp base is beautifully glazed in a semi-gloss maroon. Exceptional arts and crafts design. This base could be used today as a lamp today with the correct wiring and attachments.
Exceptional lamp base in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no repairs and free from crazing. Typical glaze misses/imperfections. Factory drill hole for lamp cord. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic Muncie Pottery and appropriately marked. All pictures are original and un-edited.
