Mt Washington / Webb Robins Egg Blue Mother of Pearl Diamond Quilted 19th century Vase
Webb glass was made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Ambelcot, England. Many types of art and cameo glass were made by them during the Victorian era. Thomas and George Woodall made Webb cameo glass beginning in 1881. Production ceased by 1891 and the factory was demolished in 1895. Webb Burmese and Webb Peachblow are special colored glasswares of the Victorian era.
This is a beautiful 19th century vase. The diamond quilted pattern is amazing and makes the vase look like a pillow. Perfect light robins egg blue sure to match any home decor. This is a special vase that would make a perfect gift for that ultimate collector of all things antique!
No evidence of repair or modification was detected. Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches. A couple of rub marks but this doesn't detract from its beauty. It may appear more pronounced due to the macro lens used for the photography. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including air bubbles.
