Moorcroft Pottery 1950-86 Pink Magnolia White Vase
Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company. James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Designs came from 24 year old William Moorcroft who personalized each piece of pottery produced with his own signature or initials. In 1904, Moorcroft won a gold medal at the St Louis International Exhibition and followed up the achievement with further medals and commendations, culminating in the appointment of the Moorcroft company as Potter to HM The Queen in 1928. Moorcroft vases are difficult to find in any condition.
This vase was produced between 1950-86 which is determined by the mark on the bottom. This vase is unusual in that it is glazed white instead of the normal cobalt blue. This vase has a beautiful hand painted design of pink magnolia flowers that surround the entire body of the vase. A truly beautiful vase. The perfect size to fit in your curio cabinet.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free of repairs. Normal minor crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic and signed appropriately with the Moorcroft symbol and artist signed. All pictures are original and un-edited.
