Moorcroft Pottery 1928-49 Anemone Blue Cobalt Ballister Tall Vase

Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company. James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Designs came from 24 year old William Moorcroft who personalized each piece of pottery produced with his own signature or initials. In 1904, Moorcroft won a gold medal at the St Louis International Exhibition and followed up the achievement with further medals and commendations, culminating in the appointment of the Moorcroft company as Potter to HM The Queen in 1928. Moorcroft vases are difficult to find in any condition.

This vase was produced between 1929-48 which is determined by the mark on the bottom. This 12 5/8 inch tall baluster vase has a beautiful hand painted design of a various colored anemone flowers that surround the body of the vase. A truly beautiful vase - larger in person as the pictures do not do it justice. This piece is just huge!

Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free of repairs. Normal minor crazing. I cannot detect any repairs or modifications on this piece. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.

Authentic and signed appropriately with the Moorcroft symbol and WM. All pictures are original and un-edited.
