Lalique Crystal Post War St Christophe Car Mascot Hood Ornament
When it comes to defining elegance and affluence as a lifestyle, Lalique crystal comes to mind for most people. From its earliest days to present times, the Lalique Company has consistently tantalized the world with its exquisite glass and crystal depictions of themes that include flora, fauna and the beauty of the female form. Although largely classified as realism, the Lalique Company also integrates symbolic themes in the form of stylized objects that reflect the beauty of nature.
This is an excellent example of a Lalique St Christophe car mascot or hood ornament produced post ware even though it is signed R Lalique. This piece was produced post- war due to the type of crystal used to create it. Originally, designed in the 1928 as one of a series of 29 hood ornaments by Rene' Lalique. The design of this piece is executed extremely well with exceptional detail to the entire piece. This is a perfect gift for any occasion or to add to your own collection.
Exceptional figure in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches. A little bit of lint from cleaning. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic and appropriately signed Lalique.
