Cowan Pottery 1930 Fir Green Vase V-8 Egyptian Revival Stand Marks 9/4
In the mid-twenties, the Cowan Pottery studio managed to develop a full commercial line of pottery with artistic quality of the highest standard.Console sets, flower bowls, comports, candlesticks, vases, lamps, candy and nut dishes were very successful. By 1928, Cowan Pottery had grown to a staff of 35 people and was producing 175,000 single pieces a year ranging from unlimited stock designs to limited editions of sculptured pieces.
This is a beautiful smaller 3 1/8 inch tall round Cowan vase set in a brass Egyptian Revival Stand ( is a period piece). The color is a nice green with tiny yellow circles - which we believe to be the Fir Green glaze. This is a perfect vase for that shelf that needs a little color. Perfect addition to any collection.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and FREE from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops.
Authentic and signed Cowan. All images are original and un-edited.
