Northwood Glass 1900's Amethyst Carnival Stippled Ray Nappy Bowl
Harry Northwood ,in 1896, he struck out on his own, forming the Northwood Company in Indiana, Pennsylvania, where he introduced his famous Northwood custard glass. While all pieces of carnival glass appear to contain multiple colors, iridized glass tends to be identified by the base color of the glass that's treated. Northwood invented many signature colors for its iridized glass, including amethyst, cobalt blue, and green, as well as in pastels, ice blue and ice green, and white. This Northwood nappy bowl is a beautiful deep purple carnival glass with stunning rays radiating from the middle.
This Northwood bowl is a beautiful deep amethyst which is sure to please anyone who looks at this bowl. Perfect to display or use. This bowl displays well from all angles. Although it could be hard to display on a mantle, it would look great as a centerpiece!
Exceptional bowl in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches. I cannot detect any issues with this piece. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic Northwood Glass.
