Weller Pottery 1920's Silvertone Dogwood Vase
The Weller Pottery Company produced the Silvertone line throughout the 1920's. The background is textured in shades of gray, blue, and white with many different varieties of floral decoration. A crisp mold and strong color add quite a bit to the value.
This Silvertone vase has a Dogwood floral pattern which is nicely hand painted. Each one of the Silvertone pieces has hand painting applied. This vase is a later vase since the mold is not as crisp as some of the ones done earlier with the same mold. This shows well from every angle and would display well.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any underglaze crazing on this outstanding vase. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. Dimensions are below.
H: 9 3/8", Base: 2 7/8" , Rim: 3 1/8"
