Peters and Reed Pottery 1920s Brown Shadow Ware Vase #752
The Peters & Reed pottery was formally incorporated in 1901. Their pottery was primarily made of red clay from the Zanesville, Ohio area. Peters & Red art pottery is known for their remarkable glazes and glaze treatments.
Here we have a fine example of a 8 7/8 inch tall Shadow Ware vase. This vase is glazed in a wonderful cream with drips of red, green, black, brown. The Shadow Ware line is unique and has a pleasing color effect. The various colors are obtained by draping the colors down the vase.
Excellent original condition in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no restoration, with very minor underglaze crazing. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
