Muncie Pottery 1920's White over Blue Arts and Crafts Vase #117-3 1/2
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This 3 1/4 inch tall Muncie vase is glazed in a unique frothy white over matt blue. The style and glaze is very typical of an arts & crafts period piece.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no repairs and free from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic Muncie Pottery and appropriately marked with decorator insignia.
