Kate Matchette

Kate Matchette was born in 1875 in Greenville, Ohio, and began decorating pieces at Rookwood Pottery at the age of 17. She executed pieces between 1892 and 1893. Her work is usually found on Standard Glaze pieces, often with applied Gorham silver. Known affectionately as "Kitty", she passed away on December 20, 1953. Collector interest in her pieces is considered to be below average.
