Edward Abel
Edward Abel was born February 4, 1868 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is known to have been working as a china decorator as early as 1886. He came to Rookwood Pottery in 1890 at the age of 22, decorating wares until around 1895. His work can be seen on Standard glaze, Cameo Hi-Glaze, and even occasionally on Tiger Eye glaze. He continued to produce artwork and pottery until at least 1935. Edward Abel died on December 18, 1937 and is interned at the Spring Grove Cemetery. Collector interest in his pieces is considered to be average.
