Burley Winter Pottery 1872-1937 Gray over Purple Vellum Pot

Burley Winter was in business from 1872 until its liquidation in 1937 in Crooksville, Ohio. Burley Winters produced a number of products over the years. Pottery lovers are attracted to the Burley Winter artware with its signature blended glaze matte finish and simple, elegant, and very artistic shapes. The pottery is rarely hand decorated. Its beauty is in its shapes and glazes. Subtle variations of the blended glazes characterize each piece of Burley Winter artware.

This is a wonderful example of a Burley Winter pot. The glaze a is nice dark gray over purple vellum that feels nice and thick. Vry nice rectangular design near the neck of the pot. This is perfect for any shelf. Make this the new addition to your home.

Exceptional pot in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. I cannot detect any crazing on this piece. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. No evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections. Authentic and appropriately marked.
