1953 Nelson McCoy Twin Shell Planter in Forest Green
Nelson McCoy produced a variety of planters and vases. This particular line was probably made for the Holidays considering it's color and design. Cute planter. This is a great collectible middle period line sure to please any collector.
This beautiful Nelson McCoy twin shell planter was made in the 1950’s and is in great condition. With a pleasing gloss green glaze. It is unmarked, but an example of this planter can be found on page 78 of “McCoy Pottery” Volume III” by Margaret and Bob Hanson.
Exceptional pot in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. It does however display the expected glaze pops and misses typical of early nelson McCoy pieces, including a very small mold separation on one lip. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections. Dimensions are below.
H: 4", Length: 8"
