1930's Nelson McCoy Soft Pastel Green Butterfly Cylinder Vase
This early Nelson McCoy Butterfly vase was made in the 1930’s and is in great condition. With a pleasing pastel green matte glaze, it is clearly marked “NM USA” on the base Difficult to find in this wonderful color, these iconic butterfly pattern pieces are becoming harder to find every day. Don’t let this one get away!
This vase is near perfection. The execution of the butterflies are nice and crisp. Beautiful to display from all angles. An example of this vase can be found on page 222 of “Warman’s McCoy Pottery” by Mark F. Moran. This is a beautiful vase and is waiting for a new home.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. It does however display the expected glaze pops and misses typical of early Nelson McCoy pieces.Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. This item was inspected with a Mil-spec UVA (365NM) and UVC (254NM) high intensity ultra-violet light and no evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections. Dimensions are below.
